My exhaust manifold flange creaks like crazy when the engine rocks back and forth, like when im going slow through a parking lot. it sounds like old bed springs or something. im sure you guys know what i'm talking about

when i removed the head a few weeks ago i busted up the springs and bolts in the flange trying to disconnect the exhaust. i replaced it with a new kit with new springs and bolts and stuff. but the sound is still there. is there any way to get rid of it without solid motor mounts or something? it drives me nuts

Doubting its your exhaust manifold springs... Highly doubting, especially considering you've replaced them. Check motor mounts (including bobble) and clutch cable.

I don't know If I agree with you here Rice.

My springs done that old/new it didn't matter! That is until the solid rear bobble came along. Maybe some prothane inserts will do the trick without the solid bobble. They are cheap enough and easy to install. BTW! I made my rear solid bobble strut and beleive me it's SOLID!!!! It's not for the people who want a quiet ride. I need some Dynomat to cure alot of that. Hmmmm sounds like a plan. It dont take alot of it and noise is reduced by alot.

I have a '96 neon. It has a seal ring between the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe. If the ring is damaged or not seating properly you may be getting that noise. Mine sounded almost like belt squeal.
