Is there a way to "trick" the computer to think that the EGR valve is working so I can get rid of my check engine light? It was sticking open causing it to run terrible, so I unhooked the vacuum line to it and got it closed.

If you had the Mopar Performance pcm it would trick it for ya! Thats the only way I know of.

Vitor (neongoodies.com) makes a resistor chip to trick the factory PCM. I hear it still needs to be reset every couple months though.

ok ok. this is an easy fix, take of ur egr valve, then block it off with a block off plate, unless u have state emissions( where i live we dont *only good thing about nebraska*) or if u do have emissions test just use a quarter or a nickel( money ) and block off the side on the block that side ( u'll see wat side im talking about a quarter ir nickel works perfect i cant remember if it was the t/b side or the head side been a long time, then the other side just put a piece of metal there to block and u can make it look completely stock. i know this cause on my 1st gen i got rid of all the emissions stuff on it, now to stop the CEL, go to ur local radio shack and buy a resister u know one of the things that are metal wire on each side and resister in middle, im not sure how big of one cause like i said was along time ago and i didnt care about CEL cause my car was mtx swapped and had no emissions or cats or nething, and put one end in each hole on the sensor plug, that should do it. somewhere sells a kit to do this but its not worth the money all it is is 2 block off plates and a resister, if u find the kit u could see wat size u need.

Resistor kit is 99 cent from Vitor I believe... Don't know what Radioshack charges.

I have the Mopar PCM, so I don't worry about it. :D
