I am going through my front brake system on my76 W-200. NAPA only had part numbers for the soft lines to the calipers. Now I need the soft line from the front cross member to the axle. I have been looking around and am having troubles locating this line. Any ideas on a source or part number I can try to cross at the local NAPA/Carquest/Checker/O'Reillys??

I have a slightly different truck (73 W100) so don't know if this is helpful, but last winter I installed a NAPA 36650 hose in that position. It actually seemed a bit short to my eye, but I'm no expert--just seemed like the bends were a little tight, but it did fit OK.
Maybe safest bet is to remove the old one, cap your lines, take it to the parts counter, and match it up.

This was an oversite in the catalogs. This one is 13.25"long at NAPA...see if this is what you need. Get back to me if it isnt what you need.

that is the best idea - physically match it up with another hose
if offered a choice, go longer (within reason mind you) rather than shorter

Thanks Chump. That one looks like a match. I will take my old one to NAPA and have them pull that part number and see if it is indeed a match.

Let me know how you make out. I believe 74 or 75 was different, been a long time since I researched this. My 77 is the same as your 76.

I was able to swing by NAPA today. That part number (UP 38090) is correct for the front center soft brake line that runs from the cross member to the front axle.
