I have seen other posts like this but I thought I would add mine so more people would see it. With a little luck I might find something that works.
I have a 2002 Dodge Neon SXT with 48k miles. The rear brakes squeak when it is humid, raining or even after I was the car. I took this in to the Chrysler/Dodge dealer here in Minot, ND where I purchased this car new(52 miles). This started a while back and since the warranty past 12k miles or something like that, does not cover brakes any work had to be paid for out of my pocket. Was told that "Dodges do that" I also had them check the pads, rotors and drums....all with in normal.
It was better for maybe a month and right back to the same noise. I have heard try different pads. Try this or that. I would like to find a real fix. I would like that is "Dodges do that" would this not happen from day 1 or something close to it.
When I apply the brakes and slow to a stop one can hear the squeaking. With the pedal pushed down just enough to apply the brakes you will hear squeak...., squeak....,... squeak. It almost sounds like it squeaks in one spot on the drum(s) I would think if it was the pads it would do this solidly.
Please help, as I am to the point where I am starting to look at selling the Neon and never purchasing a Dodge again, since the sound is so bad and I was told by the dealer that "dodges do that"
