I lowered the front today I haven't got the drop spindles yet so I just cut two coils off the front. I know this is wrong but, I was tired of looking at it with the front end pointing at the sky. I don't drive this truck daily so the cutting of the springs was just to see what it was going to look like. http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff135/84Ram/001.jpg (http://)

It rides ok I drove pretty slow maing sure not to hit any rough spots in the rode. I had to cut the bump stops off so it only has about 1 1/2" off travel in the front.

Looks pretty good. Needs more drop in the front though, or either raise the rear back up an inch or so.

Here is a better picture the front is actaully lower than the back you just couldn't tell in the first picture.
im normaly an advocate of trucks go up and cars down but that is good looking. finish with a nice brown and dog dishes like you have now, chrome side piped and WOW!

I am definatly sticking with the cop wheels and the dog dishes. I am expecting to get a package from Stockton Wheels sometime this week I ordered two new cop wheels for the rear they are 10" wide with 7" of that dished to the outside . I think these trucks came with the rear narrower than the front on top of that I put in a 8 3/4 rear outof a 67 A-100 that is narrower than the factory rear so I needed a wider wheel to fill in those step side fenders. If my mesurements are correct they should fit perfect. I will post picts. when I get them installed.

Thats a sweet looking truck (and I usually dislike lowered trucks). Are you going to put the Lil Red Express wood on the outside of the bed? That would be awesome. What's under the hood?

I am still in the planning process so the exterior is still up in the air. Under the hood lies a 318 with a small cam edelbrock intake and carb, ceramic coated headers and of course daul exaust.

84 Ram... Do you know where I can get a bellhousing like the one you have in your truck? For the A 833 and small block?
Thanks

The bell housing that I am using is a lakewood blow proof. I had to have the bearing retainer turned down to fit the belhousing.

It makes me reminise.
Being 68 Y.O. and seeing all these neat trucks during the 60's and early 70's all over the place was something!
I still have my 1975 Dodge D100 sweptline shortbed pickup. It's been sitting quite awhile, but is due to come alive soon. I'll put up some photos in here soon I hope. I still drive my 3/4 ton 1976 Dodge 200 as my get around truck ( got to haul daughters stuff from place to place -ugh! )
Sure like your truck!
I have alot of empathy for guys that drive these - nothing like it really ( if you know what I mean )!

1 1/4 round of coil off, but I had to fab my own shocks I used diplomat shocks and had to cut a mounting end off and weld one on off the truck shocks. I welded the shock in a bucket of water to keep it cool. That was the shortest shock I could find. It didnt do too bad considering it had a 440 in it....

I guess that the camber adjusted out ok. I cut two coils to get the front as low as it is on my truck. Did you cut the bump stop off?

Yep, I cut the bump stop off and the alignment came right back in. I had a 79 fleetside shortbox I lowered also and dont have one good picture of it. :(

Thats nice to know I had planned on buying drop spindles for a Dakota and using drop lower control arms, because I didn't think the camber would adjust out with that much drop and not use drop spindles.
