I have a 82 d-150 with an 89 carb. 360. the trans is a 3 speed auto, long cone. The truck originally had a manual. I want to switch back to 4 or 5 speed man. What do I need to accomplish this?

I swapped an A833 4 speed for an A727B in a '70 B body and the transmissions were exactly the same. The drive shaft, rear mount, everything.

So the transmissions in the earlier B-Bodies were the same as our first gen trucks.I would also like to put a close ratio 4 speed in my truck which is currently a 3 speed with overdrive.

You'll need the manual clutch linkage, if it isn't still there.

Sorry I haven't replied, been on the road. My real truck has a 515 Detroit, have to turn the miles to pay for the fuel. Half the linkage is there from the pedal down. Its good to know the trannies are the same size.
