i have a 87 d150 318 and wanted to know what all size transmission will work in it, and what would be the best for pulling??? can any one help?

If it's auto, you'll want a 727 for pulling.

i was told today that the 727 would not fit in my truck.. that was by the local transmission shop

nope theres a 904 in there now.... and yes the local shop said it would not fit...dont ask me thats what they said.

Find a different trans shop! 727 and 904 are NOT that much different. It's not like you're trying to stuff a 6 spd Allison trans in there or something.

+1 to finding a new shop, any tranny shop that says a 727 won't fit in a Dodge truck needs to be given a wiiiiiiiide berth.
