Here is the link to the performance chip by Jet for the 2008 Avenger 2.7L and the 3.5L V-6's. They are not cheap, but they should make the car a little more fun.
Okay, now whos' going to be the first one to try this baby out? Lol.

Nice! Haha. Way to take one for the team! I'm assuming you're getting the stage 1....I don't think anyone here could even try a stage 2 without any other modifications.

I'm going to go for a Stage 2. I'm having a custom cat back system made using Dynomax UltraFlo mufflers. As for an air intake I am working on that this weekend. Lots of ideas on the air intake. But, I've bought another stock hood for my Avenger, so I'm open for idea's on doing a ram air system.

When you say you bought another stock hood, does that mean you now have two?? I guess I'm confused. The second I can find a shaker hood scoop for the Avenger, I'm getting one!

Yes I did buy another hood. I thought I may be able to make a hood with a working scoop. But I'm putting that idea off for awhile. The custom cat back system with Dnyomax UltraFlo will be put on friday of this week. I will post photo's. I should also have the Stage 2 chip here this week. For those with the 3.5L motor Jet has them in stock and ready to go.

Definitely let us know how the chip and exhaust work for you. I'd love to gain back some of the performance that I lost when I put on those 20's. Haha.

I've been told to wait untill the software update for the R/T is out before installing the chip. So I'm going to take the dealers advice and wait. I'am haveing bad down shift problems and it's a software problem from the Cheysler Rep had told me. They have already came out with the 4 cyl. updated software, so the update for the V-6's are comeing very soon. I want to install this chip in the worst way.

My Avenger with the 2.7L has been in the dealership for the past 3 days getting the tranny checked out. I think they have pulled it and are tearing it apart, because I am having very hard upshifts (mainly from 1st to 2nd) and also downshifts when coming to a stop are real rough too...
We'll see what they come up with, but it's good to know about the software issue!

Yes, tell us how everything goes for you. Im not sure how much speed you can get out of a car thats this heavy, but I would love to know. Because Im not going to settle for the stock 0-60, thats for sure. I want to do everything at once, supercharger, chip, intake and cat back. But only if its worth it, only if it really makes a good change in the speed times.
Other wise, this will be a cruiser if i cant get the speed I want. I tell you what, this car makes a great sleeper, thats why I bought it, I believe it has potential. So, at a light, near some other car, they will think its a dumptruck and laugh, until you spank em if the mods work out.

there are no good performance chips out just yet guys, the jet chip is a worthless chip. All it does is changes ur shift points and thats it. I have straight pipe exaust and a cold air intake for now on my r/t, rumor has it there making a turbo for it.

Please explain more on why the Jet Chip is no good. It seems to work very good for a lot of people that have them. Ofcourse you will not get SRT results, but you will see a difference. Not 40 or 50HP difference. If I want to have a lot of HP and TQ, I'll go with a 6.1L Hemi in the fourm of an SRT8.
You seem to have missed one important thing. These Avengers are fly by wire (throttle responce, shifting and air to fuel ratio are computer controled), so when a change is made to the shifting pattern, than the throttle responce also changes,... along with the air to fuel ratio when an CAI is installed along with the chip. So, there is more to it than just a shifting pattern change.
This is what changed with a Jet Chip in my R/T.
1) Throttle responce was much better.
2) A noticeable change in low end TQ.
3) Take off from a dead stop was faster then without the chip
4) It does change the shifting patterns, and took care of the hard down shift between 2nd to 1st I was having.
It should get better when I do install my CAI and pipes.
More to follow in the comeing weeks with pics.

Sweet! Sounds cool! My biggest concern is the hard downshift. I hate that. Have you noticed if it fixes the hard upshift (I get an occasional hard upshift from 1st to 2nd).

therix85,where did you get your cold air intake at? Or did you make your own? The only one I have seen so far was the one on e-bay.

Your best bet is to just look around and do some reading in the many web car forums, and read up on the Jet performance chips, and see what has been written about it.
Seeing how you have an CAI and pipes, look into the Stage2.

So, has any one tried out this performance chip. I am real curious as to what it does. I have driven my avenger cross country and had terrific performance.
top speed clocked at 127 mph by texas police. my mileage at top speeds is around 21mpg.
Since I am new here, I would like a little guidance. such as the best ideas to improve my stock RT. changes in exhaust? air induction? or any other info.
I am not to technical but have a great mechanic to help.
I love my car and want it to be the best in performance.
