Is the truck a manual trans or automatic.

No it won't limit the swap it will just tell me what you will have to do to make the swap. If it would ave been a manual you could have just changed the bell housing to accept a V8. Since you have a automatic you will have to change the complete trans. The only thing else that you will have to change or should I say modify are the motor mounts. The wiring will have to be manipulated all of your connections will be the ame but in different places same for the fuel lines.

A 318 with a 904 trans is about your most common and probably your cheapest combo.

you will also need to change the center hump as auto trucks have a small center hump

do u think its a good idea to get a donor truck that has the motor i want and pull the other parts off that, or will they not work. i was going to head to the junk yard to do a little shopping when i get back from the field

If you can use a parts truck than I would go for it that way you know you have everything you need plus by looking a complete truck you can start the engine to make sure it is good. I would look for one that has a good wirirng harness in it that way you can put it in your truck making for a factory looking install. I don't think that you will have to worry about your trans. tunnel since you are taking a auto out and putting a auto back in

i say a guy put ram charger seats in the cab of his truck, would they bolt right in to a truck or would i have to make a seat bracket for it to work, i leave tomorrow for the feild and come back for the weekend, then leave for another week so i'll be looking for a parts truck after that, i'm going to try to get a ram charger if the seats would work,

ram charger and ram seat brackets are the same my 86 had the bench my seats and console are from an 80 adventurer and the brackets are from a ramcharger the holes in the floor pan line right up with 2 on the brackets then just drill the other 2 and voila factory buckets
