I am wanting to do a axle flip on the rear axle. My question is what do you do with the shock mount now it is on the bottom under the axle if I put the axle on top of the springs I can't put this piece under the springs because it is shaped to fit up against the round axle tube not the bottom of a flat spring, or do you put it on top of the axle and use short shocks.

I'd make a custom plate, wouldn't be very hard to do. Or have done. You'll probably have to run shorter shocks regardless.

I flipped the axle got the shock mounts off of a dart parts car that we have since the cars have the axle on top of springs already the shock mounts were flat like I need. I have got a new problem that I have to resolve now its not that big of a deal its just going to take alittle thinking and fabricating, the the issue is with the shock mounts moved to the bottom of the springs it puts the shocks at so much of a angle that I don't think they are going to be that affective . The bottom of the shocks are to far apart so I think that I am going to have to move the top of the shocks out toward the frame to put less of a angle on them.

I ordered a set of 91-96 Dakota drop spindles so the front will match the rear . I know that the outer tie rod on the ram is larger than the dakota and that the steering arm is shorter so here is my plan. I am going to make a set of tie rod tubes that are longer so that I don't have to adjust the tierods out to far, I am also gonna use dakota outer tie rods so I don't have to cut any material off of the spindle.

You should be able to get shorter shocks and move the top mounts out towards the tires.

you can get spring perches to welb on your axle tube from your dodge dealer. weld them on the bottom of you axle tube, that will make it flat on the bottom. I did this on a 78 and i used the stock shock mount and shocks.your lowering the body and the axle mounting point . Be sure to check you pinion angle before you weld it all up.best to check it before you start so you will know the correct angle.you know this will lower your truck about 6 or 7 inches. the thickness of your springs and axle.good luck

I was under the truck today checking everything out and noticed that I am going to have to shorten my drive shaft the seal is right at the and of the machined surface of the slip yoke. I should have known that lowering the truck as much as I did would result in the driveshaft moving up and foward.
