I have an 8-1/4" Mopar rear end and just got it apart. Not original to my trucks. Wondering if anyone has or knows where I can get a diagram of it. It has 11 bolts holding the carrier in and the plate on back is welded on. The axles were slid through cone bearings at end of housing through an inner oil seal for lack of a better term and into carrier. The axles are 10 spline and both appear same length. Hubs are pressed on and held in place by a woodruff key and a crown nut with cotter pin. There are #'s all over it but nothing I can trace on-line.
The info on the 41 tooth pinion ring gear is as follows: Ormate 4 1-1-1192364 10 14 48 419xor757 with what appears to be an upside down y on the end.
Also all parts are held together with bolts and screws that have the Dodge, DeSoto, Chrysler, Plymouth (DDCP) logo on them.
I was pretty young when I saw this axle installed on this truck but I know it came from a (most likely) 1950's Dodge truck.
I have only found a few brief references to an 8-1/4 rear end from this era on-line so printed info would help.
I have spent HOURS, and DAYS and WEEKS looking on-line (much to wife's dislike) and have been unable to find ANYTHING about this exact set up.
Any help?????
