Thanks! I am interested in this box since Bullydog is dragging their feet on getting me something that works

I had one on my 03 for a while. It's nice in that it has a dial for adjustments so you have an infinite amount of adjustability. Just don't go over 50%. But you know that already....

So if its rated at 100 HP I can't go over 50HP?

The MP-8 is a pressure box. Anything over 50% is tough on the injectors. Great for the dyno, track or sled pulling but not for everyday driving.

Kind of like running your EZ no higher than the Number 3 setting......

LOL, my EZ only HAD three settings. It was an 05, remember? This sounds like a box I want then if I can run around town on the low end and if somebody wants to play at a light I can just "turn it up". Thats the only thing I never did like about the Bullydog. Even if it worked I would have to drive around in performance mode all the time or take the 10 minutes to change the program.

You know, the more I think about this the more I like this box. If its a pressure box then it won't put out as much smoke as a timing/duraction box. More smoke is bad for the DPF. I filled my DPF in 6 or 7 WOT's with the bullydog.
I guess I will wait to see what MESTI thinks of the added power he got from his. Not much about it on TS's website.

Just great, I already have one that doesn't work. I don't need a second box to R&D for the company for free.

I have had the box on my truck for the last 5,500 miles set at 100% .I can load up a intersection full of black smoke and a trail leading 1/4 mile to it. I have not had any problems so far, none thank god. :)

6.7 or 5.9?

07whitemegacab
09-21-2007, 09:32 AM
6.7l with out the filter filling up. no error code's nothing but more power and a lot of smoke.

Ram3500Dually

Alot more power or just marginal?

07whitemegacab
09-21-2007, 12:31 PM
Well, it is defiantly noticeable but it is no where near what my duramax was with the bullydog stacked with the edge. I had an 2003 four door 4x4 d-max and It would burn the tires through 1st, 2nd, and slight 3rd. I took it to the track and ran it three times in 2 wheel drive and best was 14.5 and ran it once in 4 wheel drive and got a 14.15.
The torque is what was alway fun, it should would pull. I am trying to get something like that now it maybe just to early, I don't know. Not to knock the box (mp-8) I may have just been spoiled.

Well, you can't compare stacked boxes but do you think you are getting anywhere near the 100 HP it is advertising?

07whitemegacab
09-21-2007, 01:11 PM
Yeah, there is more power for sure, I'm just not sure about 100 hp, and 200 torque but then again it doesn't feel like 350 hp and 650 torque stock to me. :dunno:
I did find it in Anglton, Tx. for $350 even and free shipping on Ebay. I live close enough that I just went and pick it up myself.

Just be careful because that much pressure will slowly cause the injector tips to cavitate and turn to crap. These injectors are not cheap in case you guys haven't looked into it.....;)

Ok,here goes..it was all MY fault that the truck didn't run.now it runs great.Mine does NOT smoke at all but it does pull real strong.not 100 hp but strong. The time consuming part is shimming the fuel rail valve cap.I'll have some performance numbers Sat nite.

Yes, tell us how it does. I am leaning more towards this box each day. I almost ordered one yesterday but decided to wait till you found out what the problem was.

Why do you need to shim the rail pressure relief valve?

i was told it to increase/maintain fuel pressure. So far it runs great.I'll do more testing tonite.

First off.I have an 07 mega 4x4 w/6.7 and an auto tranny and 3.73.Muffler delete w/5'' stacks. All times were measured with a G-tech pro(personal choice,i like it).Made 3 runs each back to back for an average.
Stock..........8.86 2wd/no brake.from a stop
100%..........7.58 2wd/no brake.from a stop
4wd 100%....6.92 4wd/With brake 2000rpm launch.
hope that helps.

Do you have a rail pressure gauge?
Just be careful messing with the relief valve. It's the only protection you have from over pressurizing the system and cracking the injectors.

"This module is Plug and Play. The Mp-8 produces 100+ hp and only takes minutes to install.

Question: What is the max fuel pressure that the MP-8 will produce?

Answer: The TS Performance MP-8 does not exceed 26,000 psi of fuel rail pressure. The factory fuel rail pressure can be ran 29,000 all day long and not damage anything. ( That info came direct from BOSCH).

Question: How does the MP-8 make 100hp+ without raising rail pressure beyond factory specs?

Answer: The Mp-8 is the only box on the market of it’s kind. Both the map sensor and the fuel pressure sensor are fully programmable. By reprogramming the map sensor signal you achieve several things… 1) since the map senor thinks it is at different boost level it will add injection timing accordingly. 2) This is the primary reason we don’t have to raise rail pressure beyond factory specs and risk damaging engines.

Question: Is the MP-8 a timing box?Answer: No it is not, however with the ability to reprogram the map sensor we can add injection timing to fit the consumers application.

Question: Can the MP-8 be stacked with other Modules?
Answer: Yes it can be. Make sure the box you are attempting to stack has different functions.( Such as TST etc.) I would also recommend contacting TS Performance before attempting this"

Taking the marketing spill out of the equation injectors have cracked with the stock rail pressure. Granted, the system can handle high pressure but not for very long. What gets the injectors is the pressure spiking. After a period of time it weakens the injectors. The other issue with high pressure is erosion in the injector bore. The early TS Ramifiers and Edge EZ's at the max level was know as injector killers.

Mikey's right, as usual. I damaged one injector in my 03 by running an EZ on levels 4 and 5 for around a year. When DonM of Formula1 checked them out he said it was definitely pressure damage....

The 6.7l injectors are different than the 5.9. Are they as prone to problems caused by pressure as the 5.9 ones are?

Ram3500Dually
09-24-2007, 10:49 AM
Since the 6.7 hasn't been around long enough for people to mod and put miles on them I don't think anybody can answer that question yet.

Dodgezilla

I agree with that but I doubt the differences are that great.... I'd still be careful but what do I know. I'm all stock, still!!!!!!!! ;) :D

Why not try that?
