my truck has been in the shop 4 times in the past month for these flashes, every time they update it runs good for 5-7 days then the check engine light comes on and it starts running sluggish.i heard that a high idle module would help, but the dealer says it will cost me $300.any ideas on this issue?any info would be great.

If the truck is an auto it just needs to be enabled for the high idle to operate.

They can, but most likely they won't because of liability reasons unless a clutch switch is installed. But you can ground the PTO pin on the ECM to enable high idle for manuals (after having the ECM updated for high idle).

Don't put the clutch switch on! It's a scam to sell you parts you don't need. All you have to do is send a ground signal to the ECM (pin and plug are the same place that the "kit" will send it to). If you touch the brake or move the truck faster then approx 5 MPH the high idle will kick out, so why the need for the clutch switch? Quit giving the extra money to the scam artists at the stealership and do the research to bypass the crap.

well to answer your question why the clutch switch from the dealer, its simple, the truck has been in there 4 times,so if it goes back in(god forbid)and i do that myself, what do you think their going to say, well the problem is with what you did,we can no longer warranty this!been there ,done that.but other than that so far so good, the high idle feature is awesome
