Our drivers side power window won't roll down. Its a 2005 Grand CaravanThe passenger window is fine. Any Ideas on what to check. Is this window on the same circuit as the passenger side? Hopefully its just a fuse.

The book says that there is a CB near the steering column, but I can't find it. Can anyone be more specific on the location and/or description of the CB? I would think that both power windows would be on the same breaker though, and the other one works. . .

if the problem with your window was a fuse or circuit breaker it would cause all of your windows to stop working

My guess is that the problem lies with the power window switch or the motor itself

Thats about as helpful as you are gonna get-you want someone to come over and fix it for you? Can either be the MOTOR or the SWITCH. Buy a manual and follow the instructions for testing the switch. If the switch tests OK then its the motor. This is the most used window and is subject to just plain wearing out the drive components. BTW have you checked with your dealer to see if this is covered under warranty? Maybe you could lay a little attitude on them and see if they will cover it. Best of luck.

I agree. your minivan is only 2 years old. unless your out of warranty by mileage your dealer should fix this free of charge

but on the other hand if your handy at all with a multimeter you can test the switch yourself. the driver side window switch has 14 pins in the connector. i can send you a list of the pins to check with the multimeter to determine if the switch is at fault

if the switch checks out good then your only other option would be the power window motor/regulator replacement

The most common problem is the motor/regulator.

Did the window act up at first? Or did it just flat out fail?

It is super easy to check the switch.

The motor/regulator isn't that hard to change either. I would still check with the stealership to see if they will do it for you.

keep us posted on what you find out ...

my full size Ram VAN's driver side must be going out ... a couple times lately, it stopped working all together (just the drivers side) and a day or two later, it "magically" started working again = so I know mine must be on the way out (its a 2000)

Thanks guys..I will try pulling the switch out and testing it with my multimeter. It has around 40k miles, so the warranty is out.....

It just stopped working cold turkey says my wife.....If you have the switch pin diagram that would be nice...Thanks

you need to test the connector at the back of the switch where the grey connector is

you need to test for continuity between pins 1 and 5 in the down position
and pins 1 and 8 in the up position

the connector i am showing below is the same pin layout as the grey connector

this diagram is for the connector, not the switch so make sure you test the correct pins on the switch that correspond with the pins on the connector shown in the diagram below

Don't give up on the warrantee repair-I'd be at the dealer complaining that it should not have probs at 40k, like this and it shouldn't! Unless you are really don't want to spend the time. I'd say you have a 50-50 chance of them fixing it just for good customer relations. Don't forget Chrysler was just bought out and the Germans don't run it any more. You are not gonna like the price of the controller/motor or the switch for that matter. They are expensive!

ha went out and jiggle the switch up and down quickly and it mysteriously began working perfectly again, I guess we shall see where it goes!
