Yea so yesterday I decided to for sh!ts and grins, take a new g/c for a drive. Let me tell you right now that this is my opinion. Its a nice van but I would not own it. It has a plastic dash and that is just a huge turn off for me. Especially in a van that has a sticker of close to 40k. Just like the oddessy, GM trio, And countless others that also have a plastic dash. Is it too hard to put a lil padding there. I mean I can expect that in a caliber and maybe an avenger but not a caravan. Please tell me am I the only one that cares about having a plastic dash

Hey my dealer asked me the same a while ago! Since I'm in the plastics industry I don't understand it either. But I guess every penny adds up in savings......but what good does that do if you do not sell the vehicles?

I can't get past their looks. UGLY. It looks like the first minivans with the square fronts. I love the way my '01 looks. I won't be getting anything newer than an '07 until they change the body style.

I haven't seen the new vans yet, but I read a review-- the reviewer said the same thing you did-- the way he put it was that the interior was reminscent of the Walmart toy aisle.

After the 2nd Gen Durango came out, I got used to dissappointment from Chrysler's design team. If this is true, it's a stupid move on their part since this is a major product for them where they still have a prayer of leading.

I'm curious if you noticed what the fuel economy numbers were and if so, what engine was it? I went on Edmunds site several days ago and although they had prices, there was no information on fuel economy.

No I did not see the sticker. The engine was the 4.slow with the 6 speed slushbox. The dealer took the sticker off for price gouging.

I read in the specs that the new GC has a 4.0 V6 w/a 6 spd auto. Atleast that is a step in the right direction.

I'd rather have the pushrod 3.8. The 6 speed might be a good thing though.
I hate timing belts.
From the pictures, I don't think it looks bad at all. I will have to test drive it and see what I think of it in person.
