Hello I am new here and have done a couple of searchs and found some info about my problem but am looking for a little more help/answers.

I have a 02 Grand Caravan sport (Canadian Oylmpic edition) 2 weeks ago the tranny went into limp mode. Had the codes read and got 2-4 solenoid Circuit error and had the solenoid module replaced and van drove great for about a week. ( I did not have the TCM quick learn done as I had this done at a buddies shop)

The other day I was driving and CEL came on again and again it went into limp mode. Had codes read again now have

2-4 solenoid circuit error AND OD Hydraulic Pressure Switch. My question is did I get a bad solenoid module from dealer or could this be caused by something else.

Thanks alot.

It could be an issue with the wiring to the tranny or even the transmission ground (if the ground strap connections aren't good.) Make sure the connectors are clean and that the wires are all in good shape. The wiring harness goes down below the front of the tranny so it can get damaged if you nose-in to a curb or one of those cement parking barriers.

The tool the dealer would use to check the wiring harness is called a "transmission simulator"-- it plugs into the harness and gives the proper inputs to the computer. You may be able to find stuff with a good visual inspection of the harness though.

Also check out the link on Post #8 of the following thread for a diagnostic manual for the 41TE that contains flow charts for diagnosis of each code. You may not be able to do everything, but at least you can rule out some of the simple stuff:

Rick99 thanks for the info I shall check the wiring. I drove the van today to get to work to re-read the codes and it was shifting normally (CEL was still on though). I reset the codes and drove it and everything waqs normal, no problems. The only thing I did notice was the tranny fluid was a little on the low side. Am going to top it up first thing in the morning and see how everything is after that.

Thanks again for the info though I will keep it in mind.
