When the AC is switched to normal (not recirculate) the temperature drops off, the refrig line seems to loose its "coolness", the refrig pressure goes up slightly..any idea???

Doesn't seem unusual. When you switch to normal from recirc, you're now cooling warmer outside air. That will cause vent temp to drop because of the extra cooling load. That will also raise high side pressure. Running on recirc keeps you cooler and reduces the load on the A/C. You wouldn't run your house A/C with the doors and windows open, so you shouldn't do the same thing in your car.

The situation is different in winter. Running on recirc in really cold temps (where the A/C isn't running) keeps humidity in the air and fogs up your windows.

thanks, but the drop in temp is rather dramatic with little to no cooling, not th enormal reduction
