Sorry if this has been covered before but need to get a better answer. I did a search but inconclusive.
This is on my 2000 with the 2.7
It has been an awsome car without any problems till this happened. The car ran fine this morning, but when I went out a few hours later, it would not start. It just turns over with out firing. Can't see any obvious things like fuses or such.
Only thing I read hear in the forums, was the crank sensors. Do these just go without warning??
Where do I even look for this item?
Any help is muchly appreciated.

The crank sensor is pretty common problem. It is located on the passenger side in the transmission bellhousing near where the transmission meets the engine. Have you checked for fuel, spark, etc?

Well, I don't know what happened but the car runs fine now. I went out to start checking things and turned the key just in case. Fired up instantly.
I have commuted for a couple days now and no problem.
All I did was check under the hood for any loose connections on every fitting.
Happy it runs but kind of curious on why it did that.

Just a side note on a bad crank sensor. If you continue to crank the engine 7 to 10 seconds the engine will start and run on the camshaft sensor alone. This applies to both 2.7 & 3.5L's. A fault code & check engine light will follow after start up.
