Just don't do it in front of any cops, and all will be fine....

Well; the ticket would read something like Ecessive Show of Speed ( ticket + court costs) or Reckless Operation of a vehicle which is a jailable offense in some states.
Have a nice day! SW

Well, yesterday they had just oiled the road and i stoped and did a brake torque for about 30 seconds and when i looked up there was a cop. He did not flash his ligths, i don't think, but it was so smokey i couldnt tell.

if the cop didn't pay you no mind yoyu pay no ticket, i have drifted around corners with my prosector plenty of times goin like 35 and id say theres a cop about 25% of the time and i have not been stopped at all, same goes for the burn out, or did he stop you a block down

I've owned 4 full size Dodge Vans. I was unaware that they can even come close to doing a burnout (lol). Well maybe if it had a 383, 440, or 426 hemi, but I haven't seen many if any that had those engines. When I get ready to do a burnout, I'll hop in my 2002 Corvette and do it right. :D

the cop never did anything although i think he was looking for me. i didn't think my 87 318 could do a burnout but i was wrong. it did a nice and smokey posi. it was so smokey that the people in front of the cop had to stop because they couldn't see

If I knew how, I would post some burnout/smoke show pics I did with my van last summer right before I put new tires on it. I could send them to someone if u want to post them.

I may be wrong, but I bet these burnouts are not done in the Maxie vans. I suspect we are talking about short wheel base vans with little weight in the rear.

Not a maxi, but a long wheel base, middle body size, full interior, aprox 6000lbs, smokem if ya can.

I just got a new set of tires install on the van. Need I say what I did with the old ones?
It is really neat to see a bunch of young guys turn heads seeing a B2500 5.2L/318cid 12-passenger smoke'em. It was so impressive that a Dodge Ram truck guy with a V10 grinned from ear-to-ear as the Chevy boys just staired in amazement. The best part is, mine isn't a maxi, but it does have the 4000lbs HD axles. My boy recored it on his cell phone and then posted it up on YouTube.
So as with the question of getting busted doing burnouts, I'll just let the guys here type in "van dodge burnout" in the YouTube search. Mine is one of them listed. ;)

I've never flipped over, but I have broke loose the rear in a little fish tail.
Nothing serious at all to really write about though.

Stev - Did you get the Yokohama's that you were researching? Post a "product review" of whatever you got (with pics of course ;) ) after you get some miles on them and have had enough time to form an oppinion.
My baby will be getting new shoes sometime around Fall or early Winter.
Thanks Man. :gr_patrio

One Dodge Ram Van B2500 5.2L/318 Magnum burnout on wet pavement after the smoke cleared.
To bad the recorded avi file went corrupt of the actual daytime footage of the event. :(

stev does your passenger tire always spin or does the driver side spin too
stev

Only the passenger side mostly. At times the drivers side one would break loose, but not often.

I can barely spin my tires on ice. My van has little torque.

MadJoe,
Is your van a pre-Magnum engine with a 3.55 rear?
Stev

Stev:
Pre magnum? I suppose so. I had a factory crate engine installed 6 years ago. This thing has very little power, but I guess the weight of the maxie comes into play. As far as the gears go, they may be 3;55, but they don't act like it. This thing will barely pull. Maybe one of these days I'll get around to checking the ratio. I've had the van 14 years and still haven't checked it.

The '03 I had with the 360 and 3.55 gears would do a brake torque burnout.
That was my way of checking the limited slip out.
It would spin em from a standing stop at times too.
