i was driving the 98 dodge ram 3500 1 ton 15 passenger van.. i stopped at a light and the power got drained out and the car turned off.. i tried to crank it..but the car wouldnt startthe gauges dont work in the dash either.. sum1 told me it was the computer.. i ordered one for it with the same model number i attached the new one.. still no luck.. does any1 have any knowledge about this? can u help me please?

Are you sure the battery didn't just go bad? It has to have a certain about of power to keep it running if I'm not mistaken. Summer heat, just like cold can take a toll on batteries.

Just a thought.

If you got power to crank the engine, why not try the key off/on trick three times and read the engine codes. It's the first place to start. If you have questions on how to do this, please inquire here.

Sounds like the #1 maxi-fuse blew in the engine compartment fuse box.

You mean there are other DODGE forums...LOL. I belong to another which I seldom visit. WHich one are you referring to?? I don't think it will hurt this forum, if you mention the name. I like to use different forums, as not everyone is online when you need them to be.
