my friend just bought a 07 3500 4x4 with a 6.7 and wonts to straight pipe it , but how does one do this with the cat and dpf or what ever it is and there is also some tubes that run into the pipe

All you can pretty much do is take the muffler off. take anything else off and it will run like crap if it even runs at all.

Right now you cannot, and i wouldn't waste any money on a exhaust system because you get no gain from a cat back system, not even a straight pipe muffler delete, maybe slightly louder but that's it.
I know a Diesel preformance company that is in the works of developing a turbo back system. This guy sold his 12 sec 1/4 mile 5.9l duelly for a 6.7l srw and is modding it right now to go faster. Time will tell.

From what I have heard the stock muffler is a straight through design anyway, so no gains there.

You get very little difference in sound from straight piping the muffler but you do get some seat of the pants HP out of it. I am running my truck tomorrow night in stock form then next week going to dump the muffler and go back to the track next weekend and run again and see what difference there really is.

you should just wait for all the aftermarket companys to find a way around the cat and dpf, the ford guys have already found a way around the dpf and the truck still runs
