If i get this code should the egr valve be replaced?

hello , my 2000 intrepid 2.7 engine has 127.000 miles and going strong until it started to stall when i stop. I checked the codes with the ignition key and got the code p0404 with the engine light coming on. ,does it mean that the egr valve needs to be replace? thanks for taking the time to answer.

P0404 -- EGR rationality. The right thing to do would be to scan it and check/test the operation of the egr valve. This could mean the egr tubes are plugged, or the EGR position sensor is bad-- which means the valve would have to be replaced.
