why did they always call it a cigar lighter when 99% of folks used it to light cigarettes

now they call them auxilliary power outlets

Because it's big enough to light a cigar.

And check out the build date 5/12... talk about a late 1972 model...

And yes Parson, it was a very high priced truck... but since it was a "1972" when 1973's were coming to the dealer lots they unloaded it a little cheaper.

More stuff, no idea what these two are. The first thing is a little card, and the other thing was a small (about 1/4" x 3/8") metal tag...

5/12 would be May 12. That'd make it a mid-'72 model, considering they unveiled new models around Sept/Oct back then.

The Water Test sheet depicts a '62-'71 model too. Apparently it was more trouble than it was worth to change it lol

Interesting, thanks Speed.

Still doesn't explain the 73 paint and ignition.

I'll bet it is a 1973, built in May of 72, and brought out in September....Nawwwwww November of 1972 :D

My 06 Jeep Liberty has a build date of July of 05

But my 1985 Ford Diesel has a build date of January of 85 ???....Go Figure :D

Many years ago if you could afford a car you were one of the more affluent class and they smoked cigars instead of old cheap cigarettes. :thatfunny :gr_patrio
