I just purchased a '98 3.2l today, and noticed while driving, that the fuel gauge is constantly dropping to empty, dinging, and then usually returns right back to full again. I noticed that this happened right after we fueled up. Also, how do the fog lights operate???

I have owned several treps through the years and never had an issue with the fuel gauge. It is most likely that you have a broken/pinched wire at the sending unit in the tank. It could also be the sending unit itself.
Fogs operate by pulling out on the headlight switch and work on low beam only.
Hope this helps.

This happened to me when I first bought my car. It had been sitting for sometime, and it eventually quit after awhile. I am figuring it was some varnish build up on the fuel sender, and after a few tanks and some good fuel system cleaner, it went away. If it still does it after that, you will have to replace the fuel sending unit most likely.

I've seen this before. Run a couple of consecutive tankfuls of full strength Redline SI-1 or Techron concentrate. That should clear it up. Report back with the results.
