I have read that some of the 6.7 owners are having issues with the emmisions and having to get the dpf's changed, etc, etc. If this is you what region of the country are you in??

thnx in advance

Only issues I hear is the EGR and DPF. Several had to have the EGRs cleaned (simple soapy water process) and a firmware update to fix the regen issue.
My nephew just turned 7k on his 6.7 and only had the regen issue pop up the first week of ownership. The flash fixed that.

I wonder if the DPF can be cleaned the same way? Cut it out and reinstall it with v-clamps. Then when it plugs up, just take a hose to it?

might be better to clean it out totally and put back an empty can for inspections

Just watched my brand new truck of 2 days get towed off to the dealer for some emmision problem. The Computer in the truck said that the catalyst was full and the truck needed service. All the dealers I called said these trucks cannot idle for very long. I have never heard of a diesle engine that cannot idle for a long period of time. Kind of disapointing on the new 6.7 cummins.

Idling any type of diesel engine for a long period of time is no good. To much idle time over time will polish the cylinders out. All of the crosshatching will be worn away and the truck will have blowby issues.

There Is a Idle program you can enable the bumps your idle to 1100 than you can adjust it to 1500rpm if you want It keeps the exhaust hotter and it's alot better for the engine, I had it enabled on mine and it works nice, going handy this winter plus the exhaust brake will help with the engine warm up.

I don't know if you know this, but if you have that happen again use the auto stick mode and get the engine turing over 2000 rpm it should start a regen to clean the dpf than take it out on the highway and drive it in 5th, if you had the latest flash than in about 20min it SHOULD start to drop the percentage on the overhead, if your CEL light comes on you may notice a drop in power, this is normal, the computer derates the engine HP to prevent damage to the DPF, the only way to clean the DPF whil it is on the truck is exhaust temp and time. when you truck goes into a regen it injects fuel into the exhaust but does not light it and it increases the exhaust temp to about 1200 deg.
I hope this helps some.

i read your message i'm whitdog3 with simular problem. i had very little ideal time and at lest 2000 of 2500 miles were hiway miles dealer told me that flash would only be a temporary fix and has op to replace the single unit convergence/particulat and go with a two piece system splitting up the convergence from the particulat also replace the exhaust heat sencesor. i live in central washington state desert type area.
