Has this always been like that? When did it start happening?

Odd thing is the lights on the ceiling never worked before...our freind next door figured it out, turn the headlight switch. I did that but I guess it didn't want to shut off. I just LOVE my van. It does not look 17 years old. The int is mint and it has the tv,cb and we are installing a dvd and vcr for the kids ( 5 of them, 10,8,6, and 2 yr old twins, that's why we bought the van.) I'll be posting here a lot with lots of questions because I want to bring this wonderful van back to mint, it also has NO body rust but I do need to replace one of my brake lines and the emergency brake cable. Is that costly?
Nice to find this site, I look forward to talking with everyone! Talk to you all soon.

just curious - if you rotate the dimmer switch - does that affect these lights ?

Anna,

We love our Dodge Ram Van too! We have seven children in an upgrade interior 12-passenger version. It has the cloth seats and carpet vs. the cheaper vinyl seats and rubber floor. The windows are tinted and the van has rear HVAC as well.

YES, please post some pictures in this forum of the van. It's always good to see another one. The best place to post is at the very top of this fourm under the Dodge Ram Van. The top thread to post at is this one http://www.dodgetalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32796

Enjoy the family! We are truely blessed.

If I recall correctly you will need a certian number of posts before you can upload pictures... Not sure of the number.
The brake lines (steel tubes) are 3/16" inverted flare and you should be able to find these at many auto parts stores along with couplers if you need to replace a long one. The emergency brake cable might need adjusting so try that first... I haven't tried to purchase a new one so I don't know about availablity or if they are a "dealer item" only.
