I'm looking to replace the driver's side vent window handle on my '87. Not having much luck finding one anywhere, so as an option I'm thinking about trying to disassemble it and rebuild it. Does anyone know if they can be rebuilt? Mine has gotten loose and no longer holds the vent glass tightly against the weatherstripping, creaking an annoying air leak at speed.

A: Give the rubber around the window vent a good soaking of ArmourAll ...
B: Is the little latch that pulls the window vent tight against the center-post, is there a little hunk of plastic that should be there that isn't there anymore? If so, you can replace that with a VERY small machine screw and grind it down to size....
C: (Last but not least..) If the whole assembly (The part/latch in the actual wind-wing itself) is loose/wiggely .... Disassemble and you'll find a spring-washer inside. This is what holds/keeps tension on the whole thing... So...
If you're lucky enough to have a hardware store with a GOOD stock of oddball stuff, you can get a new spring washer. OR... you MIGHT be able to get one from your Local Friendly Dodge Dealer. OR... You can go to a junkyard get another spring-washer (Which will probably be just as worn out as yours) but you can double-up on them and get the 'tightness' back into the assembly....

Thanks for the replies. I was able to disassemble mine, tighten the hold down screw, replace the washer and add some grease. Reassembled and installed and it's as good as new!
