I've got a 83 W-150. It has a 318 and standard 4 speed transmission. The clutch is slipping bad & I need to replace it. I was hoping to get some recommendations from the experts here about a good clutch to put on. The truck has 78,000 original miles on it & I don't know if my dad had ever replaced the clutch on it or not.
A friend recommended a center force clutch but I don't know if that would be overkill or not.

I don't know about what brand of clutch to get but definitely get the flywheel resurfaced. :gr_patrio

Centerforce is way overkill on a stock 318. I've had good luck w/ regular parts store replacements.

I'm with Speed. I've used Autozone/advance/oreilly brand clutch parts in three vehicles without issue. I would venture to say if the engine is stock then you should have no problem.
