98 2.5 avenger starts, but dies when it gets worm.

You might want to check your fuel pressure? Check out the post before this one (97 avenger won't start). Might be bad pump? :mad:

How long to shut down, when the motor first gets hot, or is it driveable for a while and then shuts down? When you step on the gas when it does start does it act normal, ie does it bog out, pop/ backfire, rev up like normal, or shut down? Once it shuts down it won't start back up correct? Any MIL lights? Trying to get some more info.

there is no maf on an avenger its a map system
