75 W200 360. My truck suddenly started running rough and backfiring through the carb. I changed plugs, wire, and distributor and no change at all. Its running like a cylinder or two is missing..Very choppy like when you give it gas. Checked for TDC its fine. Any suggestions?

When you installed new wires and dist cap, are you sure you got them in the right order? It's not that hard to get one (Which means you'll have 2) wrong... ;)

I did get them in the correct order. After changing them the truck was the same as it was on the old plugs and wires

Hmmmm .... You might want to do a compression test and/or vacuum test.
Does you engine have a lot of miles on it? Maybe your timing chain is worn and jumped a tooth. I've personally had this happen.... Fine one minute, next minute, it ran.... But Very poorly....

Sounds like either timing chain jumped, or an intake leak developed.

Yeah, intake leak or vacuum leak...start with the simple. Inspect vacuum very closely for condition and make sure they are all where they should be. Make sure your carb is snug on the intake. The're known to rattle loose. More so on the 225 but it happens on the small block 8s too.

Yeah I've had carbs nuts come loose on my 318's several times. In fact, it's not a bad idea to check them every month.
