Anti Theft device?

I have an 98 Avenger and I LOVE my car! The strangest thing happened one day tho, I went to pick up my daughter after school... everything was normal when I left the house about 4 blocks from the school. When I got there, she wasnt outside yet so I turned off the engine but left it on accessory so I could listen to the stereo . About 2 minutes later, she comes out so I go to start my car and NOTHING! No clicking, no attempt to turn over what so ever. So I called hubby, he came down and checked the battery connections, fuses, and so on... took out my battery, ran it back to auto zone. They gave us a new one at no charge cuz it was still under warranty. But when he put it in.... nothing still. so we switched vehicles, I went home and called a tow truck. After about 2 hours of trying this, and checking that.... he finally discovered what it was, (purely by accident... lol) Apparently it came with a "ANTI THEFT" system. Id just like to know what tripped it, because I dont want to go thru that again... thanks for any insite...
