Hello, The 1998 dodge caravan we have has non automatic locks. What do i have to do to get automatic locks and what would be a good nice sensitive alarm system to purchase?
Please let me know Thanks!!

Does your van have power locks and you're looking to add remote keyless entry or does your van have manual locks?
I don't know much about what aftermarket alarms are best, but I'm pretty happy with my "Ford" branded Code-Alarm system that I installed in my Durango. Definately look for quality in your purchase though. It is easily worth a hundred dollars more to have a system that will not fail on you within two years.

Hello Rick,
The van does not have power locks. I wanted to know if there was a way to make them powered and a good alarm system to alarm it with. I will look into the system your talking about.

If you van doesn't have power locks now, it won't be cheap to get power locks in. Along with the actuator for the lock, wires need to be led around to the front of the car. If you can do the work yourself, you will save a bundle. I haven't been in the market for an alarm so I'm not sure of the exact cost but it is a bit of work.
A good installation is more important than the brand of alarm/remote door system. A bad install can ruin the best system made.
