3 or 4 speed?

2000 Caravan. 3.0 litre. Automatic. How can I tell whether it is a 3 or 4 speed?

I have the same van. From what my mechanic told me, I am not sure if this is true or not, Digital gear indicator means 4 speed, mechanical indicator means 3 speed. This information was given to me when I was calling for pricing to get my trans rebuilt at 119000 miles.

Mine is digital. If your mechanic says it's true..then that's good enough for me.

Don't think having digital means a 4 speed. My 2000 had 4 speed and no digital odometer.

The 4 speed will read P R N D 3 L

The 3 speed will read P R N D 2 1
