I have been doing a lot of work on my 1998 GC recently. A/C evaporator, cooling fans, rear air shocks, and lots of other unspecified maintenance. While I was at the store ordering the air shocks I also ordered up a set of rear Energy Suspension geaseable universal polyurethane rear swaybar bushings (part number 9.5156g; 3/4" universal). They were $23 from Advanced Auto. You can get them online from bushings.http://www.suspension.com/s.b.bushings.htm for $17 plus shipping. They are great BTW.

Anyway, I put them on today. It was very very simple. I jacked up the rear end, put my jack stands under the leaf springs and took 4 15mm bolts loose (2 for each bushing cap). The new bushings come with new caps so you can discard the old ones along with the rubber bushings.

I just got back from driving it and I have to tell you that the difference is incredible. You all know how when you turn kind of fast you can hear the front tires scrubbing and you feel like you are just going to keep going straight? Well that is gone. In essence a poly bushing is solid were the old ones are squishy rubber. This means that your rear swaybar is acting like it is larger and it is loading up quicker when you are turning.

Without going into all the dynamics of suspensions and swaybars I hope you just trust me on this. Spend the $23 and experience it for yourself. It is cheap and it will put a huge smile on your face.

It's good that they are greasable. I have them on my front sway bar of my Bonneville SSEi and every 6 months or so, I have to remove them and pack them with grease.

I have non greaseable ones on the front and haven't had any squeeking yet. It has been about 2 years and 40k miles. Lucky I guess. I did grease them with a marine grease so maybe that makes a difference.
