In my 07 Dak, 4x4 4.7 FlerxFuel. It's the 5 spd Auto, that I know, but whats the model number/code? Basically, I want to firm up the shifts. It sliiiides into gear, DOnt like that. My other ride is a 77 Trans am with a healthy 455, just shy of 600 FtLbs of Tq. Backed by a TH400, full manual shift. When you shift that, it's NOW. I am used to that and want a more positive shift out of the Dak. If I could up the MPH at where it shifts into 5th too, that would be a bonus as well

Thx in advance for your help, this is my first Dodge ever, but have allways loved Dodge trucks.

You have a 545rfe tranny..
You can firm it up some with a transgo shift kit..
Cost about 45 bucks..
It will help some, but I def. wont be like your Trans Am....

Cool, thx. I know it wont be like the TA, I was just using that for a refereance that I know what firm shifts are like and like them. I have had people on other boards tell me that " ohh no you wont like that, to hard, knock your teeth out" etc.

Now, another Q, I would imagine putting a shift kit in would void Warranty?? I can never leave anything alone LOL, there's 350 Mi on the clock and I have allready modded the exhaust, doing the IAT inline resistor and have a CAI. And it's a lease HAHA. Most likely end up buyin it out after.

All I can find on TransGo web is up to 04, the 45rfe is that the same as the 07?

Yes.
Its a kit for the5-45rfe and the 45rfe.
I spoke with transgo to be sure..
You dont need the higher priced kit as the newer tranny has the other upgraded parts already.
Throw you a deep pml tranny pan on there while you are at it..
Warrenty wise, you might be able to get away with it by 2 chances.

1** you dealer is cool, and/or you know someone in service.
2** the service tech that works on your truck might not even notice.{believe it or not, this has happened on several of the vehicles I have had tranny work done to.**

I say do it just to make your tranny slip less and live longer..

Its the same transmission...a 545RFE. All 4.7s with automatics have been built with a 45RFE base transmission. In 2001 or 2002, I forget which, they brought out the 545RFE, which is a 5 speed version of the 4 speed 45RFE. It has been that way since then.
