Anyone else had a wheel bearing go out on their truck? My 06 R/T has one in the front growling and howling, I believe it's the right one. It keeps getting worse and worse. I figure I will wait until the noise get a little worse or otherwise the dealer will say something stupid like "that's tire noise" or some dumb crap like that. It's a wheel bearing, no doubt in my mind.
2006 Dakota with 8000 miles X bad bearing = JUNK BEARING.

You sure got the dealer lingo down. They say the crazest S**t. TRW is the bearing vendor and they been in the tank on their front end parts for some time now. Bearings should last for the life of the truck as long as there is little abuse.

Wheel bearings on Dodges go out a lot. It's not uncommon to have one die early. We get those in at the shop quite a bit.

I guess it just must not be my week. My Ford Focus has a right front bearing going out too!!!
I know Dodge trucks have lots of bad wheel bearings. Pinion bearings too, ot at least a few years back they did. The pinions went out of my 98 Dakota, the ball joints went bad on my 03 Ram, and now this wheel bearing on this Dakota. I don't care, fu** it. They'll fix it. I still like the truck and it's the first problem I've had. While it's in, whenever I decide to take it, I'm going to make them address the bouncy shocks problem too. I hear tell that some guys have gotten their 05 and 06 shocks replaced with what is now standard on the 07 and it fixes the bounciness.

I took the truck to the dealer, both front bearings were bad. They replaced them and did a nice job. I've been to this dealer now 2 or 3 times, and I really can't complain, they have done really good work on all my stuff.
Truck is nice and quiet now with the bearings fixed, been driving it alot again.

I believe mine are going too, when I get ny truck above 60 mph, it starts howling from the front end, driver side I think. Gonna try to take it in, but if I do I have no way to get to work.

Dropped it off today, they said both front hubs were bad, no idea why :(
