I have a 92 Dak. 3.9L 2 wheel drive. It was idling and just died like it was shut off. It has sat for a while before I was able to do anything with it. To make a long story short, I had checked the fuel system, replaced a short piece of fuel line, fuel filter and now I have fuel pressure (don't know how much pressure). I then had to replace the coil. My battery is completely dead (my charger won't even recognize it.) But jumping it the motor starts and as long as I keep my foot on the accelerator, the motor runs smooth at a constant RPM. When I let off and let it go to idle speed it dies. HELP!!!

Get a new battery, charge it or sustitute one that is charged.
If the battery is discharged the the alternator won't put out enough voltage to turn the ASD relay on. This relay provides power to the injector and igntion circuits.

Hey thanks...Somebody else told me that but I didn't think it was right. But since I have a second opinion I will go with that.

If you are still running the original alternator it may be heading south also. Any other symptoms like headlight flaring or dash lights dimming/flaring, battery lights flickering briefly? My personal experience is that an alternator can leave you running on battery power until the battery craps completely and you coast to the roadside. Perhaps you can take it to Advance or auto Zone and have them do a free alternator check. Good luck
