96 3.3 will not shift

hello i am new to the dodge world
i just got a 1996 grand caravan 3.3 and it will not shift in to 3rd it just stays in 2nd and revs up does not seem to slip at all just will not shift
could the tranny be done or is there some thing eles i should look for

any help would be great

a bad input or output speed sensor will cause this
they are easily/cheaply replaced
its worth replacing them first before you try anything else
