when cold the engine is rough at idle not when it's hot.
So just for the heck of it i plugged in my tester and the code is 8888 link error ?
With only 15,000 miles i'm scratching my head wondering how could this be ?
Could a mouse have chewed thru a wire ? or maybe disconnecting the battery for a while would clear it - i don't know.
Does anyone have any thoughts ?

My R/T, early 05 build also had a slight rough idle. I believe it is normal and as long as it is not real rough it is normal. Never hurts to have it checked. Maybe a update software version is available for it.

Sure it's a problem with the car and not the scanner. The magnum uses a CAN bus setup that may not be compatble with an older scanner. I know I had to do a software update to use mine with the Magnum.

Thanks djc208, What kind of scanner do you use?

I have the auto X-ray unit. It's more expensive than some of the simple scanners, though not too bad if you're just getting the ODB-II version. I upgraded my old one and got a decent deal, but I need the older interface cables for some of my other cars.
If you only need the ODB-II interface though I'd probably see about one of the computer based ones. I saw something the other day for a $150 unit that hooked into a laptop and would do everything mine will plus more (better data logging and easier interface).
There's also some new performance meeters that will do the same thing plus give you 0-60 times and g-forces etc. I think a company called dash hawk makes one.
