I need some hlep on my 02 dodge caravan. I don't have any dask lights (check engine light, oil light, abs, bliker ligh etc.....) all the guage are dead, I mean nothing comes on... the engine does run. sometime everything will come back on but once I turn ON the turn signal switch then everything's dead again but the engine still run fine...

Try pulling the battery connections for like 10 minutes . Make sure everything is off inside like the radio and blower before doing this as I have seen people who just do something simple like replace the battery blow the radio out .

I don't know how many times I take battery connections off..... I also clean the battery connection. check all the connection in the the van, still nothing. I called the dealer to make a appointment and they said it might be the cluster...

if turning on turn signals kills it i would be looking at the ignition switch as its right next to the turn signal switch. a bad ignition switch will sure do what your talking about
thats my 2cents

Run this diagnostic, it corrected my problem: :rck:

SELF DIAGNOSTIC TEST
To activate self diagnostic program:

With the ignition switch in the OFF position, depress the TRIP and RESET buttons.
While holding the TRIP and RESET button turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Continue to hold the TRIP and RESET buttons until the word code appears in the odometer windows (about five seconds ) then release the buttons. If a problem exists, the system will display diagnostic trouble codes. If no problem exists the code 999 (End Test) will momentarily appear.
DTC'S

110 Memory Fault in cluster
111 Calibration fault in cluster
905 No CCD bus messages from TCM
921 Odometer fault from BCM
940 No CCD bus messages from PCM
999 End of Codes

I can not run the SELF DIAGNOSTIC TEST because there's no light at the cluster not even when you open the door. the cluster and upper dask is dead...

the turn signal switch or harness my be grounded, or shorted to voltage. Also maybe check the fuse connection *INST PNL*

if you search this forum there are a ton of threads on a dead DASH. and almost all point to a bad solder joint on the cluster circuit board.

One more thing to try before you start pulling things apart. I had very similar symptoms last year with our 01. It seemed to point to the ignition switch and when I shot some Lockease(or however you spell it), everything returned to normal and has stayed there. What I used had graphite in it as do most formulas for freeing up locks.

We're all forgetting the KISS rule: you know, Keep It Simple Stupid. When all you dash lights are out, that's usually a sign that the fuse for your taillights is blown.

I believe there is some sort of regulation that requires these two be on the same circuit and run through the same fuse so that the driver will be aware that, if he has no dash lights, he has no taillights.

I could be wrong, but usually the simplest answer is the right one.

Hope I'm not too late chiming in with this one. Let us know what you find.
