hey guys, anybody tackle putting in an aftermarket sunroof yourself? i have a 94 gr. caravan and i'm debating wether i can do it. i don't have an overhead console, and there seems to be enough room between the dome light and windshield, but i'm not sure if there are support struts or panels in the ceiling there i need to avoid or get around.
anyone know whats under the head liner and metal skin overhead of the driver and passenger? any advise would be helpful, even if its just to say you wouldn't do it. i was thinking of just a manual pop up type of sunroof ie; jc whitney etc. thanks! :) rick

i just had to replace the headliner in my 2000 caravan. mine has a framerail just in the right spot for the sunroof. being the older model, yours might be different

thanks gunslinger, i'm still pondering it. i could get the sunroof for about half the cost of a custom install. but i don't want to open up the roof and be unable to finish it. dadvango

the best way to check, is to pull the headliner board down and put some eyes on it. its not that bad to get it out(especially in a caravan) and if youve got the clearance... your already prepped for the job. if not... make sure everything is clean up there and put it all back together. either way its not really a waste of time.
