my 76 d100 with a 318 will not get any spark. I held my plug to the block and turned it over and there was no spark. I need to get my volt meter on the coil to see if it has any voltage. it has a new ignition control module. it may have a crappy distributor. it is too damn cold in ohio to mess with unless you have a garage. any tips will be helpful.
thanks adam

I think the coil is supposed to get 8 or 9 volts, not sure. Check all your grounds first thing. Make sure the engine is grounded to the frame.

i had the same problem with my 79 and i replaced the coil, cleaned up the grounds, did a complete tune up and ended up spending like 200 bucks then my grand father suggested trying a different voltage regulator and it fixed the problem. so if i were u i would try the voltage regulato r fist and then go from there

4.8 is way to low... As Speed says, it should be up in the 8-9 volt area.. you might want to check/replace the ballast resistor also...

I may be having similar problems.... But it's intermittent at best. Like if it heats something
up too much while driving.... Or carb problems as mentioned in my "Intake Suggestions" thread.
Could someone kindly explain how the voltage reg. is tied into my truck? Can I by-pass the harness and hardwire it? Just curious - :)

Actually that's not weird at all .... A very common trouble spot on our old Mopars...
