I honestly dont even remember what points look like. It's been 15 years since auto shop.
I just remember the drunk alcoholic brother of the lady that sold me the RV going through what he changed last year on the RV's motor, and one of the things he listed was the points.
I don't want points.
Anyhow, I will have a mechanic take a look and make sure that indeed I have points on my 79 Beast. Thanks again for the links.

Don't pay a mechanic to look. Do you have an piece that looks like this under the hood? This is the ignition module for the electronic ignition.

Hmmm, I will look. My van looks just like yours, where is yours located at?
Now that I think more about it, 1979 is pretty late to have points on.
It must be also why ive had a hard time finding a points eliminator kit from the autoparts stores.
If I open up the distributor cap, what will points look like?
Thanks you profusely for your help.

That's my '72 and it has points. If yours looks just like mine, then you may not have a '79.
Points will look like what's in the first picture and if you have electronic ignition, you'll see what's in the second picture under the cap..the pick-up module.
