Anyone have a diagram of how to take apart the steering column for a 1980 automatic column without tilt wheel? I believe I have a faulty lower bearing and would like to replace it but I can not find anything on how to take it apart. Below is a picture showing where I believe my play in the column is. I can grab ahold of the shaft and move it and you can feel it moving. Any help is much appreciated!
I think you have to take it apart at the rag joint, to remove the column. Then you can have it out where you can work on it.

I have had the rag joint apart before, I replaced the steering box but I didn't take the shaft out. That is what I meant about a diagram showing the inner parts of the column so when I take it out I can have something show the bearing inside and to make sure it goes back together properly.

maybe you might considere getting the entire steering column from the automotive recyclers to use the term they like to be known as
