The speedo on your '97 is electric. The speed sensor that provides the signal to the speedo is located on the tailshaft of the tranmission..on drivers' side. Check the connection and if that is okay, I suspect that your speed sensor is bad. Check all your fuses too.

I'll look into the sensor and fuses. I already looked at as much wiring as I could thinking maybe a mouse chewed through but can't see any evidence of that. Thanks again and if this works I'll post it.
