Yeah, it gives the intention a lot of things is wrong with my Van, but I think this is the last minor problem I've found on the 'To Do' list :D
When I open one of the doors ( also cargo doors ) the dome light ( reading light ) is coming up at the front of the car, but the the other ones in the cargo area stay off, I've checked allready the bulbs in these 2 lightunits but they are perfect. All the doorswitches do their job because the frontal light comes up... .
Is there a switch for selecting the cargo lights? I suppose that all of these bulbs has to be wired parallel to each other?
Does someone has a similar problem?
Thanks!
Xavier :)

Xavier -
If your van has one light in front and one in back, they should always turn on and off together. There is no switch (that I know of) to turn one or the other on or off independently. The only way to turn them BOTH on together is either open any of the doors or turn the headlight switch.
Try this - take a volt meter and with the bulb out, see if you have voltage at the bulb socket (don't forget to keep a door open  ) - should be 12V DC, I think. I know you said the bulb is O.K., but this should give you a good starting point on isolateing where the problem is.

The headlight switch, which also acts as a dimmer for the dash lights, controls the dome lights as well. Make sure it's not turned all the way over (to the right I think)..this may be why the dome lights aren't coming on.

Hi,
Yep, I've tried allready turning the lightswitch because it was mentionned in the owners manual, this function works fine, the frontal domelight does it perfectly, but the two other lights stay off.
I think I have to check out the wiring...?

Are the door contacts clean to make a good electrical contact? I've run into that on my conversion Ram Van and on a '94 Caravan.

@ Stev: I think so, opening the side doors and cargo doors do make come up the frontal dome light. It should be weird that both of the switches in the cargo compartment should have dual contacts ( separate frontal and cargo light switch ) with both of them having a bad electrical contact for the cargolights only :dunno:
