:help: Boy, I hope someones got an answer...'99 B3500 extened and am on my third set of wheel bearings for left side, seems the inner is getting water in somehow. They usually last six months, shortest time is in the winter. There seems to be a slight ridge cut where seal rides on the spindle, inner bearing is the only one to go. Am I looking at replacing spindle? My shop is out of ideas......Thanks, Marty

Did it start after changing rotors? Just thing maybe you got a porous casting.

Well now thats a thought, and I sure wouldn"t think THAT could happen but, it sure did start after rotor changes. Is something like that common?. Thanks for the info Chris....

I would not say it is common but , with rotors being casted everywhere's could happen. They also make thin sleeves for some applications that gets pressed on the damaged area of where the seal rides. They are more common for things like harmonic balancers but, if you come up with the right measurements it could be used.

If there is a groove in the spindle it will act as a trough for water to get into the bearing area. Replacing the spindle may be the only fix.
