Which brand of shift kit do you have or prefer and why?
I have used the superior lube upgrade kit has you enlarge the same 4 holes in the transfer plate and increase the line pressure as an old article on the 727 does. In addition it also changes the 3-4 accumulator spring, the 2-3 shift spring (to reduce shift overlap), change the manual valve and modify the valve body for full time lube and to charge the torque convertor in park. Also there is modifications to the throttle valve to raise the line pressure increase rate.
Has anyone used the trango TFOD-jr kit and is it similiar? I have seen a posting that shows modifing the intermediate shaft lube holes to increase lube flow to the overdrive planet and bearings which seem to be a weak point in the original design of the overdrive transmission.
My intended purpose would be somewere between RV and performance.

To be honest, I have no experience with shift kits, but if you have any links to their web sites, I would like to read what they have to say.

Can the mod which lets fluid circulate in Park be done individually? Are their any advantages of having it NOT circulate in Park? I've always wondered if they designed it that way for a reason. :dunno:

Here are the links I have. You will need to navigate to products and the transmission type.
www.transgo.com
www.superior-transmission.com/
I believe the reason behind full time lube in park is to get all parts lubricated before you take off from park... This could be done by starting in neutralwith an unmodified transmission as could charging the torque convertor with fluid. The instructions in the superior kit don't tell if one of the valve body mods is for full time lube, convertor charge or something unrelated... It's a small bypass hole drilled in the valve body pressure regulator section.
