Put the van in transmission shop had trans overhauled. ran fine for a few days. then it started acting up. would die when you put it in gear. but if you patted the gas and got it going it would run fine. even idles great. took it back to shop for the two week follow-up on the 21rst. They still can't fix it. they have put another torque converter, pump, valve body, but to no avail.
Now they are putting a crank sensor on it. We have used this shop for 30yrs.
you would think they would be on top of it.
any ideas on what's wrong? maybe EFI module?
Thanks

Are they using Dextron fluid or the correct ATF+3 fluid in it???

The sensor will mess up if the wrong fluid is in there. Plus, the wrong fluid will not give you the best protection either.

There is a possibility of a restricted cooler in the radiator. This will cause the convertor clutch to engage and stall the engine when put in gear. Pull the lines off the radiator, and jump together. If it acts ok now, get the core cleaned or replace. Dont drive it with lines jumped!
