My wifes 05 grand caravan has the check engine light on, who do I get it to display the trouble codes?

Assuming you have a digital speedometer, turn the key from off to on quickly 3 times and it will show you the number of the code. Either post it here or type OBDII into Google.
Another way is to take it to Autozone or others similar to it. They will do it for free.

My '06 shows it on the odometer after clicking the key back and forth.
Go here to get the code.

Just don't buy the Auto X-ray scanner as they don't seem to be supporting the updates for them any more.

That's an EGR code so try removing cleaning it so that everything moves freely.

Hey first, thanks for the '06 code retrieval method. Igntition on/off 3 times quickly.
My 06 gave me a P404 which ,per the link provided , means EGR for my van also..?
Is the EGR cleanup easy on my 3.8 van? ('o6 GC SXT)
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!
